HEALING & AFTERCARE INFO

HEALING & AFTERCARE- WHAT TO EXPECT...

The Healing Process: Healing on average takes between 5-7 days on average. You initially may or may not feel some tolerable swelling or peppery-burning sensations for up to 2hours or longer... Your skin will go through an adjustment phase every few days; slough & flake in tiny little fish-food-like flakes until the top layer of skin has initially healed.  The second and third layers heal completely a little later  which is why final results will not be apparent until 6-8 weeks afterwards.  It is important to allow the process of the skin to heal before you can judge a result... BE PATIENT!

AVOID: When bathing, put a slight amount of ointment on Brows... Avoid Steamy baths & showers or facing the water head directly, swimming of any kind, dirty environments, exercise or sweating (body salt breaks down pigment) for the first 5 - 7 days as it will effect your color retention and healing process.  Be sure to purchase a new tube of Mascara if you had an Eyeliner procedure to avoid any bacteria getting into the skin.

Ointments: You may use certain ointments SLIGHTLY such as Aquaphor, but use them VERY SPARINGLY on Brows or Eyeliner. Lips may be heavier as they often are heavily chapped. If your skin has oily tendencies, you may be required to dry heal.

You may (or may not) like how your procedure looks as it is healing:The reality is, healing is as unique as each individual and we encourage clients to have faith in the process of that healing time. Most times clients like how their procedure looks, on occasion they are disappointed initially and that is typically because they have not had their second session yet.  This is NORMAL either way.  Please contact me to so that I am aware that you have some questions or concerns so that I can answer them for you.

NOTHING MORE CAN BE DONE During the healing process until the skin has completely healed.  This means no touch-ups or color change adjustments etc. may be done until your skin has completely healed back to it's healthy integrity (6-8 weeks) ... this means -Clients will NOT be seen for any additional treatment adjustments prior to the proper 6–8-week healing time. Some healing may  appear uneven or slightly blotchy, the shape may need tweaking, the color may not be quite where you want it etc. THIS IS NORMAL and these issues are addressed at the complimentary follow-up session within 6-8 weeks later. You may choose to use makeup to compensate for any color or shape discrepancies once you are healed after the first week until your Complimentary Follow-up Session.

TRUST THE PROCESS & BE PATIENT: It is important for your best results to follow instructions precisely. As the skin flakes and sloughs off it is important NOT TO PICK or pull at the flakes.  This can damage skin further, effect retention and even cause infection.
